What this task is

A short sentence (3–5 seconds) is read once; you type it exactly, with correct spelling. It scores both Listening and Writing, and every correct word earns marks — making it, word-for-word, the highest-value task in the whole test.

How to score well

Listen for meaning first, then quickly note the first letter or a short-form of each word.
Reconstruct the full sentence from your notes immediately.
Spelling counts — practise common academic words until they're automatic.
Even a partial sentence scores per correct word, so always type something.
